We’ve been busy with preparations for lynx capturing in Romania. It is important to have a good quarantine environment for the lynx, that’s why we made sure that the quarantine is top quality. Three-part quarantine is now ready for lynx. Wish us luck with the capturing.

Snow-tracking in Romania

At the moment, Slovenian and Romanian project teams are enjoying the ideal snow conditions in Romania that allow efficient snow-tracking. Snow-tracking is an important part of lynx monitoring for the purpose of lynx translocation. Until now, the Romanian team managed to get 13 camera trap images of lynx on 7 different locations. From 21-26th of November 2017 part of Slovenian and Italian project team visited our partners in Romania. We were happy to see that Romanian team is already busy surveying lynx and managed to collect several records of lynx presence in the Vrancea county.
