Establishment of a Specialized Police Investigation Unit and Other Supporting Activities for More Efficient Persecution of Illegal Killings
The goal of this action is to establish a specialized police investigation unit and other necessary conditions to effectively persecute potential illegal killing of lynx and other protected wildlife. While the direct purpose of the group is to improve sanctioning, the ultimate goal of improved persecution is to reduce the likelihood of illegal killings of all wildlife. We will prepare protocol with detailed procedures to help in cases of suspected illegal killing of wildlife. That is intended not only for police respondents but also for the field staff who are usually the first to detect the cases of potential illegal killing of wild animals. Action will start in mid-2019 and finish at the end of 2022.
