Association for the Biological Diversity Conservation
The Association for the Biological Diversity Conservation (ACDB), Romania is a private non-governmental and non-profit organization working to support biodiversity conservation programs, sustainable development of rural communities and ecological education in the process of solving environmental problems. During the last eleven years ACDB members were involved in activities implemented at the local, regional and national level in Romania targeting protected species management and conservation management of protected areas and wildlife research. ACDB team has over ten years of experience in field research and conservation activities and has worked with experts and partners from Italy, Germany, Spain, Ukraine, Hungary, Austria and Canada. The association has implemented as beneficiary or partners for several projects targeting in situ management and conservation of the large carnivores. ACDB large carnivores experts team has been involved in projects financed by LIFE+ Nature program targeting large carnivores conservation: LIFE02NAT/RO/8576, LIFE05NAT/RO/000170, LIFE08NAT/RO/000500 and LIFE13NAT/RO/000205. ACDB has also developed in the last years an ex situ conservation and rescue program for wild animal species through establishing the Wild Animals Rescue and Rehabilitation Center and ensuring strong collaboration with other centers from Romania.
