Research activities at the Technical University in Zvolen (TUZ), Slovakia are focused on supporting individual faculties and cover the area of “Forest – Wood – Ecology and Environment – Industrial and Environmental Engineering.Renewable energy sources”. Radio-telemetry field study of spatial behaviour of red deer Cervus elaphus took place in 2005–2012, studying spatial behaviour, circadian activity, home range sizes, migration, habitat use and functional response on changes in environmental factors. TUZ cooperates closely with forestry and hunting institutions and with the State Nature Conservancy in different research fields of forestry and nature conservation. Forestry faculty of the TUZ have conducted the pilot lynx camera trapping study in Slovakia since 2010.
