Over the past years, we have forged successful collaborations with artists and jointly organized art events on lynx topic. The artworks created spread the story of the lynx, the reasons why the lynx population is endangered, and the measures we are taking to save the population from extinction. Slovenia’s diverse cultural landscape and the diversity of its fauna and flora are also excellent starting points for the development of art tourism. As part of the project, we have designed posters with messages that promote the importance of lynx conservation and the opportunities that it’s presence offers for the development of creative tourism programmes.
The tourism programmes designed in the project combine nature conservation and art: a guided nature walk aims to introduce participants to the world of the lynx and its habitat, while an artistic mentor focuses the new-found inspiration on refining artistic expression.
