Posted - Feb 23, 2018

On Wednesday 21st of February, in a village Grižane in the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, lecturers doc. dr. sc. Magda Sindičić (Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Zagreb), Zrinka Domazetović (Ministry of Environmental Protection and Energy), Petar Raos (Ministry of Agriculture) and Ivan Žgela (Police station Crikvenica) introduced local communities to large carnivore management, current population status and their legal protection. Issues regarding regulations for damage compensations and managing these situations were also pointed out.

On that occasion, LIFE Lynx and LIFE DINALP BEAR projects were presented. Of the 50 people who attended the lecture, many of them were hunters and other stakeholders whose awareness of the ongoing projects and good cooperation is of great significance.
