Another Croatian lynx is monitored with telemetry

Posted - Sep 6, 2023

On Friday, July 21, 2023, in the area of the ‘Ričićko bilo’ hunting ground (Primorsko-goranska county, Croatia) the fourth and last resident male lynx was successfully captured and fitted with a satellite collar as part of the LIFE Lynx project. The lynx was named Slavko and we’ve known him since December 2021, when we first photographed him with camera-traps. At the end of August, the first data from his collar arrived, showing that Slavko moved in an area of about 90 km2 in 40 days.

Slavko will wear the telemetry collar for the next year, during which we will gather important information about the use of space, interactions between individuals and other segments of the life of lynx.
