The Progetto Lince Italia
The Progetto Lince Italia is a non-commercial research association with legal address at the Veterinary Department of the University of Torino and the official sponsorship of the IUCN Cat Specialist Group. The main task is research on large carnivores with the intent to provide data about population status and interactions with other wildlife species and humans for management and conservation purposes. PLI has a long tradition on international cooperation and realization of EU projects. PLI has carried out the lynx reinforcement project in Friuli Venezia Giulia region, Italy in 2014 (ULyCA Urgent Lynx Conservation Action). Main collaborations exist with CUFAA (National Forest, Environment Service – Carabinieri Forestali), Regional Forest Service and different academic institutions and hunting associations.
