Slovenian and Slovakian Ministries for the environment have signed a memorandum on cooperation in the LIFE Lynx project.

Some of the lynx for reinforcement of Dinaric SE-Alpine lynx population will come from Slovakia. To remind you, the 6 lynx from which this population was established in 1976 were also brought from Slovakia.

Ministry of the environment of the Slovak republic committed to allow live capture and translocation of lynx from source population in the Slovak Carpathian Mountains. The translocation will be conducted in line with the IUCN guidelines (International Union for Conservation of Nature) and with relevant EU and national legislation.  The status of all translocated animals will be monitored and regularly reported to the Slovak ministry.
