The report titled, “Lessons Learned from Past Reintroduction and Translocation Efforts with an Emphasis on Carnivores” is completed. The report synthesizes important lessons from biological and social factors from historic mammalian translocation efforts. The report relied on peer-reviewed literature and specific case-studies that involved Eurasian lynx reintroductions and other large carnivores. The findings and lessons highlighted in the report will help the LIFE Lynx Project team members continue to follow the IUCN 1998 Guidelines for Reintroductions with additional knowledge that will enhance context-specific planning, effective project implementation, and a comprehensive management approach that coordinates lynx recovery and conservation efforts in Slovenia, Croatia, and Italy.
