The LIFE Lynx project addresses various target groups to promote an understanding of the lynx conservation issues and challenges of coexistence with large carnivores. After the successful three-day art workshop Kingdom of the lynx 2019, another art workshop will be organized. The art workshop Kingdom of the lynx will take place between July 31 and August 2, 2020, in Loška Dolina and it is intended for beginners and experienced artists wanting to learn more about the lynx theme and improve their painting technique under the supervision of academic painters, Karmen Bajec and Simon Lavrič.
Participants will create artworks in the heart of nature, learn how to design animal figures, and paint motifs from nature. Members of the LIFE Lynx project team will give lectures and guided field walks to present the life of the lynx. The art workshop will also join the festival Floating Castle ), where it will create a platform for dialogue about lynx among the local community and festival visitors. On the 2nd of August, we will complete the art workshop with an exhibition of the paintings and drawings in the Snežnik Castle. The exhibition will be open until August 23.
